So, like recently I got some money. Like a lot. So, I bought this album. It rocks. It's called Absolution. It's by Muse. Muse is a British rock band...and I muse say that they sound pretty amazing. It's a three person band. The band consists of Matthew Bellamy (Lead vocals, guitar, piano), Christopher Wolstenholme (Bass, backing vocals), and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion). Christopher's last name is weird. I wonder how you pronounce that. Hahaha. Anyways, they rock. They're British, you kinda expect them to own at life, ya know? I think I'm obsessed with British bands...it's weird. Like the other day, I was like Coldplay is such a good band. Then I found out they were British and was like OF COURSE THEY'RE GREAT. Hahahaha. I bought the album on Amazon for $6 dollars. There are 15 songs on the album, so I gotta say that is not a bad deal. Yeah, you can buy mp3 albums on Amazon if you didn't know. Most times they are much cheaper there then on iTunes. Yeah, good thing to know. Unluckily, you can only download the music if you are in the U.S. There is a thing though called Hotspot shield, which lets you get around that. I'm not sure, because I don't use it. Connor does, so that's how I get the music. Yep...I'll give you an overview of the music. 10 is the highest rating given, 0 is the lowest. Honestly you should probably buy the album now and stop wasting your time reading this. I mean come on, 6 bucks that's it. So, stop reading this right now and BUY IT. If that does not convince you then read this rest of this blog post...When you read it '-' these things are not minus symbols...they are just....yeah. Just good thing to keep in mind when you read the bottom.
Muse - Absolution
Intro
The intro song is just weird. It starts out with these drums like you'd hear in an army. And then someone says something that sounds like "march". Yeah. weird. - 3
Apocalypse Please
This song is pretty cool. It's not the best on the album, but I think it sounds nice. The piano parts sound really awesome. It become a bit repetitive at some parts, but it's nice. - 7.4
Time is Running Out
My favorite song on the album. The bass intro is so AMAZING. IT IS INSANE. And Matt's vocals on "ooh ooh oohh yeah yeah yeah" part are just...wow. The drums sound great on the "bury it" part, building up to the chorus. Wow, just an amazing song. Even if you don't buy the album, you should buy this song. - 9.5
Sing for Absolution
I honestly think this song is kinda creepy, but I still like it. Hahaha. Yeah. It's kinda boring and slow, but I think the whole song sorta builds up to this one part at the end. - 6.8
Stockholm Syndrome
Wow! I love this song. It's insane. It's one of those headbanging songs for sure. Matt can sing so high. The backing vocals go perfectly with the song as well. The lyrics are quite excellent too, "This is the last time I'll abandon you. And this is the last time I'll forget you. I WISH I COULDDDDDDD!!!!" - 8.7
Falling Away With You
This is a slower song on the album, but just as good as some of their faster stuff. The guitar picking through the whole song is perfect and foolproof. It may be simple, but it sounds so amazing. - 9.3
Interlude
The interlude is alright. I mean all it is, is an interlude. It's not supposed to be the best. It starts with the ending of "Falling Away With You" so they kinda go right together. It's just some guitar playing with thick distortion on. Nothing to scream about.- 4
Hysteria
Ahhhhh! Another creepy Muse song. I still love it. Guitar - amazing. The solo is pretty commanding. When your listening to the album, this song will definitely be one that will stick out among the others. - 8.3
Blackout
Starts out with something that sounds like a violin. Or maybe a cello? Yeah, not sure. The song is pretty laid back and slow. The lyrics are pretty straight forward. Matt talks about how we only have a short time here on earth and how we shouldn't waste it. At least that's how I interpret it. Ha. - 7.3
Butterflies and Hurricanes
The bass is playing at the start of the song. It's hard to hear, but if you're wearing earphones you should be able to hear it. It sounds really interesting. I don't want to say creepy. Maybe eerie and unusual. Yeah, that sounds good. In like the middle of the song Matt plays some piano and it sounds so good. - 7.8
The Small Print
This is intense. It starts out with some heavy guitar and when the drums kick in it's simply amazing. Matt's vocals on this song are the BEST. I love it when he says "insannneee". It sounds soo...delicious? Yeah, but really no kidding, it's sick. - 8.1
Endlessly
The beginning of the song starts with some interesting drums. It sounds pretty nice. There's this one part in the song, near the end where they use some sort of strange instrument or special effects, which makes it sound pretty spooky. I love it. Hahaha. - 7
Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist
The fast guitar picking sounds great. Combined with the drums and the bass it sounds perfect. Matt's vocals on the part "yeah a yeah yeah aaaa yeah.." are great, because I don't think anyone expects him to sing the song like that. It's great to mix things up now and then. - 7.6
Ruled By Secrecy
This song is another one of those slow songs on the album. Matt plays no guitar, only keyboard or piano, whatever you want to call it. It's an okay song. I think they should have built up to the song to a certain part and then unleash their musical talents...or something. It seems like the song stays at the same pace throughout.- 6
Fury
This is the longest song on the album, 5:02. The guitar and drums, sound pretty good together, but to be honest I think the lyrics are pretty stupid. The verses are okay, but the chorus is..yeah kinda lame. Hahaha. - 5.4
Okay, so, if you haven't bought the album yet....well...that's just sad. Let me try to paint a picture for you. I would run 6 miles for no reason at all to get this album. And I would also pay the 6 bucks. I mean seriously. Muse is a good band. This is a great album. It's 6 dollars on Amazon. Need I say more?
